Description

I could have called this *Where is IC 525*, in the vague hope that 45 frames of 8 seconds at the fast f2.8 - 10.000iso - would bring out fainter objects such as this. Not yet ! BUT...

VERSION B : north is right. HIP 44356 at the center of the image. Applying a bit of crop to bring it out along the interesting asterism... "Wait a minute", while examining the field for magnitudes and colors, I figure there is a 4th "star" in the otherwise threefold asterism.

VERSION C : Here it is, in false colors for better contrast = I caught some sort of asteroid, not supposed to be there with HIP 44356 & HIP 44326.

IC 525 is a galaxy of the 15th magnitude, unresolved it this shot where we are reaching -with some ease- down to the 14th with some hints down to 14.75 mag.

This is the first series of 45 frames (300mm of focal length, 8 second frames, f2.8 @10.000iso) taken on the mount. No proper alignment procedure and yet fairly round stars... Much work still to exploit this machine!
